This app exists because
I needed it and it didn't.

I walked into a stroke support group alone on a random Tuesday. That door changed everything.

Stroke at age 22 — in 2014

Working at Frito Lay in Pensacola, FL. 7 months of speech, occupational, and physical therapy followed.

Rebuilt — and kept going

Passed the power company entry exam. Became a meter tech. Met his wife. Started speaking at nursing homes and hospitals.

March 18, 2026 — The spark

Walked into West Florida Hospital's stroke support group alone. Told his story. Led chair yoga. Formed Resilient Minds.

July 13, 2026 — Second Sun goes live

The Purpose

Built from the experience
of not knowing where
to start.

At 22, I had a stroke that changed my life completely. I lost the use of the right side of my body. I faced a grueling road to recovery — and I did it without a real guide, a real community, or a real companion who understood what I was going through.

Even in the midst of devastating setbacks, I never gave up. I kept pushing forward, knowing that greater things were waiting. It was that experience — not knowing where to start after my stroke — that inspired me to create Second Sun.

My hope is that Second Sun provides not just practical tools, but a community of survivors who can uplift each other, share their experiences, and grow stronger together.
